This post and my support may come as a surprise to some, its not a topic that I am often vocal about, and considering I am so into endurance sports and working out this may seem strange to some, but (and this will put me out on a limb) I fully support the legalization of marijuana.
Personally I could care less if you or someone else smokes, but I am under the belief that recreational use by a responsible adult is no more harmful than someone (an adult) having a few drinks and smoking a bunch of cigarettes.
Of course I am sure that many would disagree with that opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own, this is just mine. All I ask is that you keep one thing in mind while reading this post, I am only referring to one bust, so please try and think of this times 5 or even 10, there is a bigger picture here.
However after reading about this recent marijuana bust and hearing how many officers were involved and how much the marijuana was worth I began to think a little more, and it almost seems like a no-brainer that it should be legalized. I would also add that should it be legalized, it would need to be sold in a manner similar to cigarettes or alcohol.
I read about the bust, which was local to me on the WCTV.tv website and I cannot understand the money involved here, and just how the government, both local and federal can think that this is money well spent. Let me explain…

Just thought I would share a few pics from my recent triathlon, which was race #3 from the Central Florida Triathlon Series on August 17. Overall my individual event times were up and down from race #2, but overall I managed to shave some time, which was nice.
Me exiting the swim, which was at 7:40, a little slower than last month when I came out of the water at 7:25. However I was able to make up some time in T1, bringing that down from 2:06 to 1:36.
Beginning the bike, like a moron, I missed my pedals two times, oh well, overall the bike course was nice and I managed to cut my time a little from 24:27 down to 23:52.
Also coming in to T2 was nice and I was able to bring that down from 1:06 to a sweet 0:35 seconds.
Finishing up the run I felt great and wished I had picked up the pace a little earlier. Still I managed to cut my time a little from 25:49 down to 25:04.
My official results were:
SWIM (.25 mile): 7:40
SWIM TO BIKE TRANSITION: 1:36
BIKE (8 miles): 23:52
BIKE TO RUN TRANSITION: 0:35
RUN (3.1 miles): 25:04
FINISH: 58:45
What does this tell me, I need more time in the pool, I still need to work on my transitions, although to be fair T1 does include a decent run up the beach, and I also need to work on my overall confidence when it comes to running and not be afraid to pick up the pace and really push.
Sadly this series just includes three races, but I look forward to next year and with some proper swim training I am hoping for 55:00 flat on this course.
