~~a geeks journey through the internet~~

I briefly mentioned in my previous post some of the other places that spend (at least some of) my time online, so I thought I would offer up a little more detail of where I tend to frequent. By and far I am not a huge fan of social networks, but still participate in a few, and sadly realize I realize that I need to participate more.

First up is Gadgetell. Between editing and scheduling posts, along with writing a few of my own every day this is where I am spending most of my time online.

Next we have Twitter (robertnelson), and while I am not followed by as many people as I would like, that is something I hope to change. I do enjoy Twitter and try to participate, overall I think I get more from Twitter than I give though, its nice to see comments from ‘friends’ throughout the day, but am making an effort to give more.

del.icio.us (robertnelson), an almost daily use for me. My links will post here on this blog, and these are items that I either want to read at a later time or have read and want to save for a possible return, but do not need them in my regular set of bookmarks within Firefox.

Flickr (robertnelson), I love to upload pictures, I upload sets from my regular camera and also some from here and there using my phone. I am also overcoming my strong dislike of being photographed thanks to the D&D 365 club that I have been participating in.

YouTube (robertnelson), a favorite of mine and again one that I get more out of then I give, I have recently began uploading video’s with plans to upload some more from time to time.

Facebook, another social networking site. I have a profile but very rarely if ever use it, I pretty much only access it when someone else contacts me first.

FriendFeed, a new site and one that I use more to keep tabs on all my feeds. I use it more as a catch all for myself than to follow others. To me it seems like information overload to me, mainly because the people that I am friends with on there are already friends with me on other sites such as Twitter, so it just ends up becoming duplicated content.
And don’t forget to subscribe to my RSS feeds, the most important ones are here:
