~~a geeks journey through the internet~~
17 Mar
…and I do not mean for Saint Patrick’s Day, although you can feel free to celebrate that anyway you see fit, heck I may enjoy a green beer myself later this evening. But more important to me is that March 17, 2008 marks TWO YEARS of not having to go into an office.
That’s right, two years ago today was the my last day of work. Well, to be fair last day of work is a little incorrect, I still work, everyday, including many nights and weekends, which is something I never did while working my 9-5 but I actually enjoy what I do now. Sadly since I have become self-employed and began working from home I find I work more often and for less money. Of course some of the money is made up for by lack of commute time and less gas, and eating out, but its still less in my “paycheck.”
I of course would not trade it for the world, and hope I will not have to for a long time. Being self-employed and working your own schedule does have some very nice perks. One of which has been getting very close and having more time for ever with my daughter, of course we now have a second, so I really should say daughters. The second is just over six-months old now and I look forward to being that at-home-dad for her as well.
I am self employed work from home and consider myself (when asked) a “working-stay-at-home-dad.” I also would not want to trade it for the anything. Here’s to many more years.

Congrats Robert! I’m still a bit jealous of that sweet home setup you’ve got
