  • Camcorder Help

I am not sure if anyone reading this has any knowledge on camcorders. I sure don’t so I am looking for some help in picking out a good (or at least decent) one.

I am looking for something that:
    1. Records on MiniDV tape
    2. Is Hi-Def
    3. Is small in size
    4. Is NOT Sony

I have been looking at the Canon HV10 and found it on Amazon at a really good price. From what I can find it does have some decent reviews as well. A main complaint is the battery life, but I am not as worried about that because I would most likely pick up an extra battery or two with the initial purchase.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Reading Web Articles

Here is a little tip I have for you on reading articles on websites. This is nothing extremely exciting just a simple tip that makes me wonder why it took me so long to figure out.

You have all seen those articles they are spread out over several pages and each page is usually filled with ads. It makes it annoying and distracting to read. However most of these websites are nice enough to give you an option to print out the whole article in a nice one page format with no (or very little) ads. Like me I am sure you don’t want to print out each and every article you want to read, but doing this will most often give you the option to read it before you print it. So read it and enjoy the clean layout and then just don’t print it.

See nothing fancy but hey I never realized this “trick” so maybe this will help at least someone.

  • Microsoft Supports OpenID

Just last week I was ranting about Flickr and the whole YahooID deal and made a statement about Zooomr using openID, along the lines of who uses openID anyway, well it turns out that Microsoft is going to start supporting it. I still don’t like it and think Zooomr should let you use your email, however I thought I should post a follow up about openID.

Have you heard about OpenID? The simple idea that your web address is one form of identity, just like your email adddress or even your physical address? Well, back in December, we mentioned how OpenID has been gaining momentum like crazy, but today, things just went to a whole new level.

  • This is a bad deal. I had checked out the site and he appears to be using for a real business purpose. I did not think he was trying to use someone else’s fame. Of course I am not into country music and really did not know who he was anyway. I really hope Keith Urban the US Painter wins this. Celebrity’s are in the public eye, but it does not mean they have more rights or are better in any way. This will be interesting to see how it turns out, hopefully I will see a follow up story down the road.

Former alcohol addict, cocaine abuser and Australian country singer Keith Urban has filed a lawsuit against a US painter of the same name. He claims that the lesser known Keith Urban’s website *KeithUrban.com* infringes trademark and cyber-squatting laws.

  • I am a Pearl fan…

    …not a Blackberry fan. I think.

I have never been a fan of the Blackberry. I had always been a Treo fan, and actually hated the Blackberry. I still do like the Treo, alot. But it’s not on T-Mobile and that is who I use for my mobile service. I had switched to T-Mobile for the Sidekick 3 and soon fell in with lust over the Blackberry Pearl.

So shortly after the Pearl came out I picked one up for my wife and myself. Now I really like it, I like the push email and the OS that it has on it, and had thought that I would want to upgrade to a newer Blackberry in the future. As there are a few things that I did not really like about the Pearl, most important the keyboard.

However I am really used to the keyboard now and I REALLY like the size of it as well. I was excited to see this new Blackberry 8800 and thought it would be cool. It still looks like the Pearl except it has the full QWERTY keyboard. Except one thing it is larger.

As much as I like the full keyboard I do not want to move to a larger phone again. Which is typical on many Blackberry’s.

So let me ask you… Am I a fan of Blackberry’s or just the Pearl?

What got me to think about this was the awesome pics over on The Boy Genius Report.

  • GizmoCall

GizmoCall is a pretty cool website. It allows you to make calls directly with your browser, as I wrote about in an earlier post. However one big downfall is the limit to being a 10 minute call. With this little “trick” you can now double that.

This cool little hack (some people dont like this word *WINK*) or workaround will let you use Gizmocall for another 10 minutes. This will results in 10 mins (official) + 10 mins *wih hack)= 20 mins calls everyday.

Lets see how you can make it happen!
